What is hydro seeding? A mechanical application used to seed lawns, or hillside, consisting of slurry mixed with grass seed, mulch, fertilizer and tackifier. What is mulch? We use 100% Virgin Wood Fiber to make a moister barrier over topsoil. How long does hydro seeding take to start growing? Within 14 days the first shoots normally appear. Is there a minimum call out fee? Yes, a minimum charge of $375.00 for any lawn smaller than 2500 square feet. When do I water and how often? Newly hydro seeded lawns should be kept damp, if you see puddles, you are over watering. Remember--- just keep the lawn damp! During dry periods, you may need to water 4 or 5 times daily. What is included in your price for seeding? We include lawn seed, 100% Virgin Wood Fiber, start-up fertilizer, and tackifier. No hidden charges. Should I lime or fertilize before seeding? Adding lime to your new topsoil is fine. We include all the fertilizer needed for a newly seeded lawn. When do I need to fertilize my lawn? You should start a general fertilizing program after the second mowing. We suggest that you use a weed and feed type fertilizer, whether dry or hose applied. What kind of lawn seed do you use? We use a special blend of lawn seeds, two types of Fescue, for the shady areas, and 4 types of Blue Grass for the bright sunny areas. What is the germination period of your lawn seed? Fescue seeds take 10 to 14 days, and Blue Grass seed 21 to 24 days to germinate. Why is my lawn spotty? How long has it been since your lawn was seeded? Did you over water, causing seed to wash out? Are you cutting your lawn to short? What’s up with the weeds? Weed seed is every where, in the wind, in the new topsoil, even from the neighbor’s yard. But not from our lawn seed, we use only certified fresh seed. Nothing more and differently nothing less! When do I need to start mowing? Once the new lawn has grown to be 3 to 4 inches tall, Cut it.
